Engineer Khaled Seif, representative of the Arab Federation of Engineering Industries and member of the Board of Directors, participated in the sixty-first periodic meeting of the specialized Arab federations.
In his opening speech, His Excellency Ambassador Al-Nay asserted that specialized Arab federations are crucial for successful Arab economic integration and the primary vehicle for the private sector participation in development across various economic, social, and technological fields.
Among the most prominent topics discussed by the participants, “The Digital Economy” stimulated multiple recommendations: (a) developing a comprehensive vision for digital transformation encompassing all economic and social sectors, including education, health, government services, and industry; (b) redesigning educational curricula to include advanced digital skills such as artificial intelligence, data analysis, and cybersecurity; and (c) collaborating with the private sector and educational institutions to ensure that digital skills align with the needs of the digital labor market.
On another note, the attendees recommended Arab cooperation in the transfer and localization of smart technologies and applications, and the use of artificial intelligence in the green transformation. They also emphasized the need to activate and develop environmental laws to incentivize establishment to use environmentally friendly equipment and fuels.
